The stock market had one of its SMALLEST reactions to CPI in over a year, but in the midst of this market action, the bonds changed the narrative completely. As YoY inflation came in hotter than expected, the market began to no longer price in rate cuts for 2023. This was a big part of the bullish thesis at the beginning of the year as traders anticipated an early cut from the Fed, but after today, it looks like the bond market and Jerome Powell are on the same page. The real question from here is whether or not traders & the stock market actually listen. I go over a quick recap of the data today and CPI analysis, as well as my predictions for the S&P tomorrow and the rest of the week. After that, I go over my portfolio and 3 stocks for tomorrow. I will be watching ABNB stock after impressive earnings beat and high short interest. Then I will be watching COIN stock given all of the recent crypto regulation. Finally, just in case the market manages to rally, I will be watching GOOGL stock to play a big part in any risk on rally.
